Are Sega Mega Drive Sega Genesis work?

I just bought a Genesis (Version 2 to be exact) on eBay, and I'm trying find out if the Sega Mega Drive games work there? Because if I remember correctly, the Mega Drive was the PAL version of Genesis? Does anyone know for sure?

Cooling system that had as a child, but quickly broke I do remember my knowlage have a PAL version had always called the Mega Drive Sega, but I have no idea if PAL games work on Genesis, but from what I see I do not think there will be a problem after all is the fact that the same system: The American version was called Genesis because they were unable to guarantee the right to have that name

Is there a product that allows you to play games from Sega Genesis Mega Drive?

I intend to put a few sets of my grandparents in Poland for my Genesis, I know it seems very strage, but there is a long history to it. Anyway, I do not know if they Megadrive games or Sega Genesis. Thank you!
