Can anyone help me with a disk problem?

I know I have a few games back of my computer using diskettes a Commodore Amiga 520. I have some games that are 3 MB in total. ¿I can write to a floppy disk if the drive itself is described as 1.44 MB This is the reader is not the hard drives are 3.5 MB in size.
